Kellerman, Jr.,  Cassie Newbold & Aaron Parker, Patricia Newcomb & Richard Bathon, Brittney Oliver & Mark Jablonski, Suzy Pracht & Brian Ganey, Suzanne Rensing & Gabe Simon, Melissa Roberts & Brent Billhartz, Angela Schaefer & Dan Beiseigel, Sara Skibinski & Eric Lamczyk, Shelley Smith & Chris Schaefer, Kimberly Surman & Adam Mehring, Danielle Valentine & Travis Kabat, Jamie West & Brian Klingeman, and Whitney Wojtowicz & Jared Kellerman  These are the engaged couples — 29 in number — who will be our guests on Pre-Cana Day, next Sunday, September 12.  They come to us from as near as our “Land of Lincoln” City of Nashville, IL (known for its unique ability — no disrespect to Mohammed Ali — to “sting like a bee!”) and from as far as the “Show Me” Metropolis of Kansas City, MO (known for its own “style” of barbeque!).  Sixteen of these twosomes will “tie the knot” before the end of 2010; the thirteen remaining twosomes have chosen various dates in 2011 to “voice their vows”.  Please pray for them.  “The elevation of marriage to the loftiest dignity of a sacrament must be seen with gratitude and wonder’ (Pope Benedict XVI, 2005). Wherever the sacrament of marriage is administered in the Church today — by the bride and groom, one to the other — Christ is present.  The sacrament ‘gives spouses the grace to love each other with the love with which Christ has loved His Church’ (Catechism of the Catholic Church, #1661).  It is a ‘great mystery’ (Ephesians 5:32).  Once invited to the wedding, Jesus enters hearts and homes, transforming ordinary marriages into life-giving families” (Text copyright 2010, OCP.  All rights reserved).

Keep the faith and a smile on your face.

Peace and Joy,

Father Andy

From the Principal

As we move into September and the beautiful Fall season, St. Ann School has already completed three weeks of instruction.  I would like to take this time to welcome our 2010 - 11 kindergarten students.  The class of 2009 was 17 in number; 15 in this class of 2010 is a fine size upon which to build our enrollment.  Father Andy mentioned their names two weeks ago, but just in case you missed that listing they are:  Valerie Combs, Cameron Diecker, Jacoby Gross, Seth Henderson, Collen Jahnke, Tessa Kellerman, Abigayle Kessler, Ruby Konkel, Evan Kujawa, Kaden Linkey, Quintin Loquasto, Sawyer Matecki, Kamryn Michael, Reese Varel, and Thomas Wojtowicz.  These boys and girls are progressing well early in their formal education under the watchful eye of Mrs. Valerie Bauza.  On board with us are the new families to the school:  Carl/Crystal Diecker, Anthony/Kerry Kujawa, Brian/Kara Linkey, Mark/Ginger Matecki, and Garrett/Heather Maschhoff.  The faculty staff, and other families of St. Ann School are glad they have chosen this elementary institution.

FYI ― No, you did not miss the Chili and Chicken Soup Dinner/Supper at St. Ann School.  Due to the early date of Nashville High School’s Homecoming celebration it was decided (after much thought) to schedule our famous – delicious fundraiser on Friday, October 8.  Please mark your calendars, and promptly pass on the date to family members and friends.  Our hope is that it will be well-attended again;  your encouragement is essential to our Dinner/Supper’s success.

May God's Blessing be with you all!  — Mrs. Paszkiewicz
